2010-11 Observation Days/Parent-Education Events
The
best way to decide if Sanderling Waldorf School is right for your child
and your family is to experience it for yourself. We invite you to join
us at one or more of the following events. Please note that these
events begin promptly on time (we will be unable to accommodate latecomers); are for adults only and require an RSVP. Each event lasts 90 minutes. We look forward to
seeing you there.
Window into Waldorf Evening
Tuesday, October 26
6:30 p.m. (adults only; please arrive a few minutes early to sign in)
Join
us for a real-life seminar on how Waldorf education works -- from the
perspective of seasoned parents, experienced teachers and
Waldorf-school graduates. The evening will end with an open audience
Q&A session with the entire panel. Come get answers to all your
questions, including:
- Why is the first-grade cutoff date (six years old by June 1 of the school year) so much earlier than most public schools?
- Why does Waldorf wait until first grade to introduce "formal" academics?
- Does media exposure really make a difference?
- How do Waldorf graduates fare in the "real world?"
Light refreshments will be served.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING BRINGING CHILDREN TO EVENTS:
While we love and celebrate children at Sanderling Waldorf School, we
structure these specific events (except for the March 19 Family Open House) for parents to learn more about our
school and Waldorf education in a distraction-free setting. Please do
not bring your child to the event if you have not reserved babysitting
in advance (available at Parent-Education Open House afternoons ONLY). If you arrive at an event with
a child of any age (including infants and babies) for whom babysitting has not been reserved, you will have to
reschedule your visit for another day. During the school year, personal informal tours of the school are
available at other times during the week, by appointment, for families
who would like to bring their children along.
